Baby it's Cold!

Here is the project I took on a few weeks ago--the refrigerator! I did not set the timer and I just kept going so I could get the entire section of my kitchen DONE! I did above the cabinet, the cabinet, the fridge and freezer and even pulled the refrigerator out to clean under and behind it. Whew! It was a big project, but I am so glad to have it done.

Before...

I was looking for that. I didn't think to look up here!

Check out the dust and spider webs. YUCK!

A little peek under. Looks like I need to finish painting the wall clear to the floor...or just put the fridge back.

The cabinet after...
A few years ago, quite by accident, I found a great tip for the top of your cabinets in the kitchen. Once they are clean put a layer of clean paper towels down. Next time you clean you can throw the paper towels away. You won't have to scrub the top of the cabinet to get rid of all that greasy dust. I forgot until I was scrubbing this cabinet, so now if you were to look on top of my cabinet you would find paper towels!

The outside...

And inside...

The most amazing part was that I made a big change. I used to store the bread above the fridge. I am tall and I can reach it and that is just where it ended up when we moved in. The problem is that every morning when my kids make lunch they have to pull a stool over to get the bread and then they leave the stool. Guess what? No more stool in front of the fridge!
I am saving the top shelf in this cabinet for another big project day. My recipes! I'm looking for a great way to organize them. Tell me what works for you.

To clean the fridge I used basic cleaning supplies and my steamer. I got the steamer at Don Aslett cleaners for around $100. It is so handy to steam out stuff that is in corners and crevices. It also worked nice on the handles and the water dispenser. Later I will show you the AMAZING job it does on the tile floor!
